This week, I am going back to 1964. I wish I could remember more about these photos or had additional information but I do not. All I know about the first one is I am opening up a gift.
No Chatty Cathy Doll
In the next two, I am at our local bank having my picture taken with Santa. I do remember having a passport savings account at the bank. It was always fun to go to the bank and put money in because then the teller would handwrite the amount and new balance in your bank book. No computers like today!
I scanned the back of the Polaroid Santa photo in because I found it interesting living and taking pictures in today's digital world. My, how things have changed! Ten seconds today would seem to take forever.
I send you Seasons Greetings, whether it is Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah or Happy Kwanzaa.

You, as a specimen of thy species, kindly correct my thought mishaps and show me better way. i, cencirely, thank You! you're vercitality comes as a surprice. every time puzzled by thy intelegents.

You came close second to win the first time. am sure Your ability to jerk off words is way greater than mine. after all, it's Your native language.
i wish all the best for You and your loved one's at this upcoming x-mas! i truly appriciate Your virtual friendship. thank You, Sally! peace out!
Great picture Sally - you look very happy with whatever your gift was! My bank experience was with Scotiabank. A rep came to our school with little envelopes and receipts. She took our coins in her envelope back to the bank and the next week brought back our receipt or bank book, I can't remember that. Then one day when I was big/old enough to walk downtown by myself, my Dad told me to go to a certain bank, ask to open a savings account, and they gave me a travel alarm clock that I had all through university. I wonder where it went. I spent my entire career working in a bank, just retired last year. For many years I wrote those entries in people's book, and the first day we went on line I wanted to go right back to the old way.
ReplyDeleteNow how did your blog about Santa lead into these bank memories? Oh yes, he was at the bank.
I remember those old Poloriods. To think of the technology today is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI too had a passbook savings at our local bank. I putin $.50 a week and I thought I was rich!
Have a Merry Christmas.

Polaroids and passbook accounts. They were a part of my past too. My sister-in-law actually took photos of our wedding with a Polaroid camera, and my husband bought one when our first child was born 33 years ago.
ReplyDeleteI got my Chatty Cathie about the time period.
ReplyDeleteFunny to think of Polaroid as the instant that it was. I had several of them over the years.
Enjoy your holidays Sally.
